Pregnancy Massage

A beautiful way to care for yourself and your baby (this massage is available after your first trimester)

This treatment focuses on the individual needs of a mother-to-be, as her body goes through changes ahead of the childbirth experience. This massage is very soothing and helps mothers to deeply relax and connect with their baby.

  • Reduce aches and oedema during pregnancy by promoting deep relaxation
  • Eases muscular discomforts in areas like the lower back & neck, calf cramps and sciatic pain
  • Reduce excess fluid retention
  • Relieve headaches caused by tension
  • Stress management
  • Helps with Insomnia
  • Helps increase blood circulation, which in turn delivers more oxygen and nutrients to the mother and baby
  • Available from 12 weeks of pregnancy onwards

Studies show that women who receive regular massages have fewer complications during their pregnancy and labour and that their babies are more settled and content, suffering fewer baby ailments. Although pregnancy is a wonderful time, many changes take place in the mother’s body as the baby develops. This can put strain and pressure on the joints, ligaments and organs causing some pain and discomfort which massage can help alleviate.

In addition research also shows that the baby can greatly benefit from massage as endorphins (feel good chemicals) are released by the mother during massage that are passed onto the baby. Quite often the therapist will feel the baby kick and move as it too responds to the massage treatment.
